Our Story, Anchored in Charlevoix

Dry Harbour Marine was purchased in 1997 by its current owners, Barney Way and Scott Boss—lifelong friends who were both born and raised in Charlevoix. After high school, Barney stayed local, working alongside his father and eventually owning a garbage service company, while Scott moved away to pursue a career in sales and fundraising. Years later, Scott returned to Charlevoix, and with Barney having sold his business, the two began looking for a new venture. When the opportunity arose to purchase the established Dry Harbour Motor Sports, they jumped at the chance.

Originally, the business sold both boats and snowmobiles, but around 2008, they transitioned to focus solely on boats, rebranding as Dry Harbour Marine. Nearly 30 years later, Barney and Scott remain at the heart of the company, actively involved in daily operations and continuing to grow the business alongside a dedicated team of nearly 30 employees.

Over the years, Dry Harbour Marine has expanded its storage capacity, boat-moving capabilities, and service offerings, operating fleets of trucks and trailers to provide seamless boat transportation. Today, we proudly represent five premier brands—Formula, Everglades, Robalo, Avalon, and Highfield—offering our customers an unmatched boating experience.

Dry Harbour Marine was honored to be named the 2024 Charlevoix Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year, one of the most meaningful awards we have received. This recognition reflected not only our commitment to serving the Charlevoix community, but also the strong foundation built through the partnership of Scott and Barney, whose shared vision and dedication have helped shape Dry Harbour Marine into what it is today.
